The Great Northern Arts Society holds two main events throughout the year that offer opportunity for northern artists to show and sell their arts and crafts.

For 10 days every July, the Great Northern Arts Society hosts this annual summer festival, a celebration that highlights the best arts and culture that the North has to offer. This is the largest Visual Arts Festival in the North with over 100 Artists from the Yukon, NWT and Nunavut gathering together above the Arctic Circle in Inuvik. It is an opportunity for visual artists and performers to show and sell their work, meet other artists, see different styles of work and learn new techniques. For visitors, it is an opportunity to experience the diversity of art the North has to offer, being entertained by northern musicians, drummers and dancers, participating in various art workshops and artists demonstrations, of course, purchasing artwork from these amazingly talented northern artists.

The Christmas Craft Fair is held annually in Inuvik at the Midnight Sun Recreation Complex each November. With over 60 vendors, this lively craft fair is sure to be the highlight of your lead into the holiday season.

The Great Northern Arts Society is also a supplier of soapstone to carvers in the region. Please contact us or more information.
