Histoire de l'artiste

I started drawing and painting when I was about 8 or 9 years old. I was raised on the land by my parents and was inspired by wildlife and nature that was all around me. I still draw wildlife and landscapes from this area.

As I got older, I ventured into other kinds of art. My mom always had lots of little scraps of hide lying around so she gave them to me and told me to make something. I sewed a moose hide doll with one piece. She gave it to the craft store. The store really liked it and wanted more. Eventually the whole town knew about it and they got really popular.

From there I got into playing traditional music and started recording my own music. I took audio from a drum dance here and put it on my computer and tried to modernize it. The result was a mix of traditional music and hip-hop, which was really cool. I also tried dancing and acting for a while. So I am just all over the place!

I create art because I have a lot of creativity in me and need to express it in some way. I am inspired by the northern lifestyle. It also helps me to be more engaged in my culture and traditions. I do that in everything I do.
